Life-long equity and education reform advocate. Started organizing students in the 1960s, when I was a high school student. Later, as a parent organized parents in the District of Columbia to secure modern school facilities. Started the 21st Century School Fund in 1994 and with support from the Ford Foundation began to connect the DC work to other non-profits doing local work of national significance. Powered our advocacy with research and software technology development to advance civic empowerment.
