Biography

Starting at the Washtenaw Area Council for Children in April 2019, Michelle moved from Iowa to become their new Executive Director. Michelle obtained her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science degree in Child and Family Services from Iowa State University. Her experiences have ranged from providing direct service work with individuals, groups, and communities to running non-profit and for-profit entities. She has a deep-rooted foundation in non-profit management and has diverse experiences in early childhood development, child abuse prevention, adolescent sexual health, substance abuse prevention, gerontology, and community development. In her efforts to create work-life satisfaction, she enjoys hikes with her husband and children, reading for fun, and walking through the grocery store without children in tow.
