Yvette Chappell-Ingram is President and CEO of the African American Board Leadership Institute, an organization she co-founded with philanthropist Virgil Roberts in 2011 to develop a pipeline of qualified African American candidates for membership on governing boards. She has over 25 years experience serving nonprofit organizations in the County of Los Angeles.
In May 2013, Chappell-Ingram was appointed by Governor Jerry Brown to serve as a Commissioner on the California Dental Board. She has served on numerous boards, including the national and local boards of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Special Needs Network, University of California Irvine Advisory Board and the Accounting Careers Awareness Program.
Before joining the AABLI, Yvette was President of the California Legislative Black Caucus Foundation whose mission is to educate, develop, support and empower current and future African American leaders through partnerships with legislators, the business sector and community leaders effect to sustainable change throughout California.
