Biography

Director of Membership and Programs, Julie Hain, holds Bachelors degrees in Business Leadership from Baker College and a Masters in the Humanities, focused on Art History and Cultural Policy, from the University of Chicago. Past professional experience includes positions with the Chicago History Museum, Chicago Arts District, International Sculpture Center, and most recently, before coming to SJCA, Hain was Director of Education, Exhibits, and the Jersey Shore Folklife Center at the Tuckerton Seaport and Baymen's Museum.
While her educational background and professional experience are ample, Julie is always looking to grow professionally and recently completed the Executive Program in Arts & Culture Strategy, through National Arts Strategies and the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy & Practice (August 2020). She also actively participates in training and has received scholarships to attend conferences and training in Community Development and Creative Placemaking offered by organizations such as Americans for the Arts and the National Consortium of Creative Placemaking. Hain is also a member of the Jersey Art Marketers, American Folklore Society, and Oral History in the Mid-Atlantic Region (OHMAR).

For almost two decades, Julie has played an active role in the cultural field, reaching out to and connecting artists, cultural organizations, and community partners to develop programs that build technical skills, facilitate collaborative opportunities, and increase inclusivity and access to arts and culture.
