The business lines and affiliates of CHDC serves Alameda and Contra Costa, Solano counties. Specific target areas are:

Unincorporated North Richmond, Richmond, Antioch, Pittsburg, Bay Point, Vallejo, San Pablo and Oakland
CHDC has created 1,300+ homeowners, counseling and education to 1,500+ households, developed 250+ single family homeownership units for 1st time homebuyers, managed 300 units, & provided auto financing for 60+ families. Our 4 services are: 1. Homeownership programs builds wealth thru education & counseling, real estate & mortgage services, down payment assistance, foreclosure intervention & loan modification. 2. Real Estate development increases the supply of affordable housing, mitigation to displacement, gentrification thru housing development (with mixed use projects), property management, & resident services. 3. Community Engagement support residents' community participation in resident tenant associations and neighborhood councils, neighborhood improvements (beautification, cleanup). 4. Economic Security programs empower families to reach their financial goals thru programs providing down payment & financing, IDAs and Financial Education.
Don Gilmore built CHDC from all-volunteer to more than 40 staff with 4 core programs. Prior to, he was Housing Development Specialist at the City of Alameda Housing Authority & Richmond Neighborhood Housing as Exec. Director. A Harvard Achieving Excellence & College of Idaho graduate, he served on boards such as East Bay Housing Organization, National Center for Employment Training, Center for Health of N. Richmond, Non-Profit Housing of Northern CA, Deacon at Bethel Missionary Baptist, & EBHO.
