I am currrently serving on the board of Crosssroads Springs Africa. I work on grant proposals, event planning, and outreach. As a former teacher, I have a strong committment to the value of education and the enormous impact it will have on the lives of these vulnerable children. In the summer of 2013 I visited Crossraods Springs Institute with a team of 12 from the US. We coordinated efforts to produce a video for our outreach efforts in the US. Seeing firsthand the impact loving care and an education has on the children was compelling. Our connections were strengthened with our partners there. Attending the Segal Family Foundation Annual Meeting last year presented networking opportunities with other grassroots organzations working on projects in Africa and provided inspiration that continues to keep me going.
