Biography
Michael Shirley is the community relations coordinator for Children’s Trust. He serves as a liaison for Children’s Trust with our many community prevention partners and champions the national Pinwheels for Prevention campaign in conjunction with Prevent Child Abuse America during child abuse prevention month in April. Michael is also a master trainer in ACE Interface and Protective Factors.
His experience growing up as the only biological child in a foster family exposed him to the widespread issues of child abuse, neglect and unintentional injury. It was this experience that led him to pursue a career in the nonprofit sector, especially in support of child welfare.
Before joining Children’s Trust, Michael served Anderson Interfaith Ministries (AIM) with roles in marketing communications, development and community relations, gaining experience in the strategic planning and the marketing process. Previous to his work with AIM, Michael served as president of the Anderson University Student Government Association and graduated magna cum laude. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business marketing.
