Biography

I am the Founder and Chief Hope Dealer of Carter's House, an entrepreneur, and an advocate for low-income parents and children. I am a speaker dedicated to helping others see the endless possibilities that await them. Born in San Antonio, TX, I knew early on that I was here to help others. Reared in the church I grew up with and still have a strong relationship with God. Growing up, I have always the protector, and others called on me when they needed advice. Becoming a teen mom at seventeen, I grew up quickly. Like all other situations I have dealt with in my life, I faced this transition from teen to mom head-on.
In 2013, after several years of trying to figure out what I was supposed to be doing with my life, I was led to start Carter's House, a children's clothes bank serving children ages 0-18. In the beginning, there was a lot of doubt about what to do and how to do it, but remembering how Edwyn, my ex and I felt when we couldn't provide, I knew this is what I was supposed to do. So I prayed and pressed forward while often repeating one of my favorite statements - "Where God gives vision, He gives provision." Carter's House provides clothing to children and teens in the Dallas / Fort Worth metroplex. Carter's House has established partnerships with several organizations in Dallas and Tarrant Counties. Carter's House has provided clothing to over 10,000 children to date.
I am a purposeful optimist who believes in the power of a smile. I am committed to leaving a positive impact on all I encounters.
