Since its founding in 2001, IMHR has worked to partner with Arizona researchers and direct care providers to support broad-based, innovative, early-stage mental health research. IMHR was the very first statewide, non-profit organization dedicated to mental health research in the United States.
IMHR's mission is to support innovative, early stage research that addresses the most complex and problematic mental health issues facing society today. As part of this mission, IMHR encourages the translation of research efforts into direct services and educational programs that serve critical mental health needs in the state and beyond.
To provide Arizona's brilliant mental health researchers with the tools and seed funding necessary for seeking novel solutions that help facilitate evidence-based interventions until mental illnesses is obsolete.
To provide seed funding and collaborative opportunities for local scientists, motivating them to remain in the state, and helping to place Arizona at the forefront of transforming mental health through research.
