Biography

Dez is the Senior Racial Equity Community Organizer for the Michigan Roundtable and has worked with the organization since 2011, when she began as a college intern for the Race2Equity Initiative. She holds a law degree from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School, as well as a Master's in Social Work: Community Practice/Social Action from Wayne State University. Dez is focusing her career on civil rights and community advocacy. Dez is oversees the programming related to the Roundtable's traveling exhibit called "We Dont Want Them": Race and Housing in Metropolitan Detroit as well as serves as a coordinator for the Detroit Metro Advocates and Leaders for Police and Community Trust (ALPACT) coalition.
