I currently manage Boston HandyWorks – a building maintenance and woodworking social enterprise that employs students and graduates of a job training program at Pine Street Inn. I really enjoy working with my hands, and it is doubly rewarding to be able to offer vocational training and work opportunities to individuals who are looking for a fresh start. Their stories are all unique, but they share a strong desire to change their lives for the better. They’re doing it one day at a time—rising early, learning new skills and working hard. Building the business of Boston HandyWorks has presented a number of challenges, but continues to be a very rewarding experience and I look forward to coming into work every day. I’m excited about working with professionals who volunteer their time and skills to help take Boston HandyWorks to the next level.
