Mission
In partnership with nature, YES nurtures leaders who champion the wellbeing of our community.
What We Do
YES provides low-income youth and families of color living in Richmond, California with transformational experiences in nature and year-round leadership development and outdoor opportunities which support them to bring the benefits of these experiences back to their neighborhoods and communities. YES's programs are aligned within a Youth Leadership Pathway and an Adult Leadereship Pathway, which move participants along a continuum of development to become successful community leaders, health advocates, and change-makers. Programs within YES's pathways include: 1) the Summer Camp and Camp Days program providing support for children and youth to attend overnight summer camp and outings to local, regional parks; 2) the Camp-to-Community (C2C) youth development program for teens; 3) Family Camp providing weekend-long family camping and community-building experiences; 4) the Adult Leadership Program, an leadership development program for adults ages 21 and up.
