Mission

We Stay/Nos Quedamos, Inc. a bicultural/bilingual community development corporation established in 1993, by a coalition of residents and businesspersons who have remained part of the Melrose Commons community and guided the process of change, progress, and implementation of the housing and urban development goals defined in the Melrose Commons Urban Renewal Plan. (South Bronx, NY)

Our goal is to develop an economically productive, sustainable, and healthy community. This vision is one that respects, supports and involves the existing community in the formulation of plans and policies that address the issues of housing, open space, community renewal and sustainability.

What We Do

We Stay/Nos Quedamos is proud to have been the agent for change in our community; where the transformation has included:

The development of affordable housing for more than 4000 families,
More than 400 new homeowners in the Melrose community and the addition of two hundred thousand square feet of community and commercial real estate space

Advocacy for the preservation of affordable housing, open space, environmental health and community resiliency/wellness

Direct Social Services/Case Management Support - serving approx. 3,000 clients annually
