Veggielution connects people from diverse backgrounds through food and farming to build community in East San Jose. Our goal is to engage residents throughout Silicon Valley, with a special emphasis on fostering community and family engagement in the low-income, working immigrant community of East San Jose.

What We Do

We believe that through shared meals and the enjoyment of open spaces, Veggielution can help to build community in East San Jose and change attitudes and policies toward low-income residents by strengthening diverse and multicultural social networks.

We utilize a unique community farm model that mobilizes volunteers to cultivate and grow over 30,000 pounds of produce, which is made available to local residents at below-market prices. By cultivating a space where everyone feels included, Veggielution unites community members across income levels, cultures, and generations. Through our unique partnership with the City of San Jose Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services, we provide not only healthy produce, but hands-on environmental education, physical activity, and leadership development for children, teens and adults.
