United Way of New York City mobilizes our communities to eradicate barriers and create opportunities that improve the lives of low-income New Yorkers for the benefit of all.

What We Do

We're fighting poverty by working to make sure low-income people get the support services they need right now, while simultaneously driving real, system-wide change in our community.

We focus on education, income stability and health--the building blocks of a good life. Because the nonprofit sector plays such a critical role in the delivery of health and human services across New York City, we also work to build the capacity of local nonprofits to enable them to deliver the highest-quality services possible.
