Mission

UFAR's mission is to contribute, in partnership with other like-minded organizations, to improved health and well-being of the Congolese people through active, efficient and effective participation in all activities aimed at the control and elimination of five major neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), based on the use of community-directed mass drug administration of preventive chemotherapies (MDA-PCT).

What We Do

We manage the distribution of preventative medicine donated free by drug companies through a network of local community distributors with the proven achievable goal of the total elimination of 5 targeted neglected tropical diseases (NTDs): Lymphatic Filariasis, Onchocerciasis (aka river blindness), Schistosomiasis, Soil-Transmitted Helminthiases, and Trachoma.
