Mission

The School Mindfulness Project (SMP) provides Philadelphia's underserved school communities with greater physical and emotional wellbeing, paving the way for compassionate classrooms and creating space for academic success. SMP partners with school applicants in the Philadelphia School District to deliver a direct service model in which SMP trains whole classrooms communities to adopt mindfulness practices as an integral part of their classroom community. We support classrooms through experiential education, providing tools and services that allow for improved self-regulation and sustainable schoolwide shifts in climate. Our goal is to enhance the physical, behavioral, and academic well-being of underserved school communities.
