The African American Children's Book Project since 1992 was formed to promote and preserve children's literature written by and/or about African Americans. Since its inception we have emphasized that A BOOK OPENS UP A WORLD OF OPPORTUNITIES. Book can change lives. We know that early access and choice to books that reflect their image plays an important role in building lifelong readers.
Our programs include, book fairs, book signings, workshops, I READ TO SEE ME program, educating consumers on trends/resources in youth literature and guidance on establishing home libraries.
