MissionSF New Deal provides supportive services and financial opportunities for small businesses in San Francisco.
We work to address both the symptoms and root causes of inequity by building pathways which connect local business owners, workers, community leaders, and neighbors in need, for the benefit of the entire city.
What We DoSF New Deal began as a rapid relief program mobilized in March 2020 in response to the pandemic to provide immediate financial support to small businesses and to feed food insecure San Franciscans. In just one year, we delivered more than 2,000,000 meals to food insecure community members and disbursed over $20,000,000 to support 186 small businesses in San Francisco.
We were awarded a FEMA Citizen Service Corp Award, a certificate of recognition from California State Assembly Members Phil Ting and David Chiu and a Certificate of Honor from the San Francisco Board of Supervisors in recognition of our response to the COVID-19 public health crisis and our outstanding service supporting small businesses and addressing food insecurity among San Francisco's most vulnerable populations.
The persistent challenges of food insecurity and the fragility of small businesses in San Francisco existed prior to the pandemic and will continue after. We are now transitioning our organization from a rapid relief response into a long term solution provider to continue to provide support and services with the purpose of helping the entire city thrive.
