To strengthen and ensure the sustainability of the sex worker rights movement by catalyzing new funding specifically for sex worker-led organizations and national, regional and global networks.

What We Do

The Red Umbrella Fund is the first global grantmaking mechanism in the world that is led by sex workers, for sex workers.

Our core business is grantmaking:
We provide grants to sex worker-led organisations in any country in the world in support of their work for the promotion of sex workers' human rights and the strengthening of the sex workers' rights movement.

Our other areas of work include technical assistance (or non-financial support), communications and advocacy, and resource mobilisation.

To increase our impact, we aim to influence other donors to ensure they do not support any projects or organisations that harm sex workers' rights, and that they do support initiatives and sex worker organisations that aim to strengthen and support sex workers ' rights.
