Mission

Founded in 2008, Reach Within's (Bartholomew J. Lawson Foundation for Children) mission is to improve the emotional and social wellbeing of abused and neglected children worldwide by helping them to develop social and emotional skills through youth classes that foster resiliency, self-regulation and confidence.

Reach Within also offers training and support to promote skillful child-rearing practices and psotive attachments between the children and their caregivers.

What We Do

We achieve our mission through the delivery of our Reach Within Program. REACH Within provides a continuum of care services to help provide a more secure and nurturing life for youth living in group homes. To this end, our Reach Within program provides support and services to both youth and their caregivers.

For caregivers, REACH Within focuses on an adapted version of Dr. Bailey’s Conscious Discipline training model. Through introducing positive discipline techniques it is our goal that the caregivers will have positive interactions with the children and turn conflicts into cooperation and instances of personal growth.

For children, REACH Within provides weekly Youth Life Skills classes which incorporates methods from both Karma Kids Yoga and Conscious Discipline. Each Reach Within youth lesson is age appropriate, fun and engaging. All lessons teach important values and provide practical life skills that teach children how to effectively function in their everyday lives.
