Mission

Raising Multiples was founded as MOST (Mothers of Supertwins) in 1987 by a community of families, volunteers and professionals. We are the leading national nonprofit provider of support, education and research on higher-order multiple births. Our mission is to advocate for quality prenatal care, promote healthy deliveries, and supply information to all multiple birth families in order to support successful parenting through every phase of their children's development.

What We Do

Through the easy and the hard times multiple birth parents face, our mission is to support them every step to of the way because...

We understand the feelings of joy at a new pregnancy mixed with the feelings of anguish and betrayal that come with discussions about reduction.

We understand the countless possibilities and complications a high risk pregnancy can bring and the emotions that come with it.

We understand all the NICU terms and aspects of the NICU experience.

We understand how to make singleton siblings feel like part of the team.

We understand when the joy and excitement has turned into: "What have we gotten ourselves into?"

We understand the secret joy of staying up until the wee hours of the morning baking 96 cupcakes for school birthday parties.

We understand the challenges of advocating for support services for your children's developmental, medical and educational needs.

We understand that families need to be part of the discussion about their children's placement in school.

We understand the financial strain that challenges large families and share ideas to manage the expense of 3 sports, or 4 prom dresses, or 5 college tuitions, or 6 car insurance policies for new drivers.

And we understand the shock and adjustment of a suddenly empty nest.
