Mission

For nearly 60 years, Pratt Center's team of planners, researchers and sustainability practitioners have partnered with community groups in pursuit of a more just, equitable, and sustainable New York City. Our approach combines participatory planning, community organizing and education, and research and policy advocacy to advance innovative solutions to social, economic and environmental inequalities.

Pratt Center has helped hundreds of organizations and broad coalitions to create and preserve affordable housing, ensure equitable public transportation access, revitalize their commercial corridors, stabilize industrial areas to preserve manufacturing jobs, create community green spaces, and much more.
