Mission

Pal-O-Mine provides a comprehensive therapeutic equine program using horses to facilitate growth, learning and healing. Our population includes children and adults with disabilities, those who have been abused or neglected, the military, and the economically compromised.

What We Do

Pal-O-Mine Equestrian began in 1995 as a therapeutic horseback riding program for individuals with disabilities and other vulnerable populations, and has grown to be one of the leading equine therapy centers in the Northeast. We operate a full-time program, serving over 400 individuals weekly, and support 20 program horses on a 10-acre facility on Long Island, New York. In addition to our staff of licensed educators, therapists, riding instructors, speech pathologists, occupational therapists and registered nurses, over 80 volunteers give freely of their time. Our programs include: Adaptive Riding, Equine Assisted Learning (EAL), Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP), Hippotherapy, a Vocational Program, Summer Employment Training and Corporate Training. With the exception of Adaptive Riding, all of the other programs are unmounted and involve activities on the ground with the horses, which provides opportunities for individual and group discovery through experiential learning. Our populations include children and adults with disabilities, at-risk youth, those who have been abused or neglected, the military and the impoverished.
