What We Do

Northern Kentucky Community Action Commission, Inc. (NKCAC) was established in 1966 to address "the paradox of poverty in a land of plenty". Originally focused on providing crisis assistance for families in need, the agency has evolved as society has changed and the needs, problems, and challenges of low income communities have increased.

We envision a thriving community where all members are self-reliant, capable of helping themselves and offering support to their neighbors with any life challenges they may face. NKCAC is a comprehensive human services organization that serves 12,000 families and 28,000 individuals at 17 sites located throughout an eight county service area in Northern Kentucky, with limited services in 18 additional Kentucky counties.
