Mission

Natya Dance Theatre is one of the most critically acclaimed and culturally treasured Indian dance companies in the United States. Founded in 1974, Natya aims to create dances which uphold the classical traditions of bharatanatyam dance-theatre, as well as offer astute innovations on established practices. Our expansive programming is coordinated to both uphold the richness of Indian cultural heritage and to reach out to diverse audiences, broadening communications across manufactured boundaries while creating production and works that are socially aware.
