MiracleFeet is eliminating untreated clubfoot, a common birth defect affecting 1 in 800 babies globally which causes the feet to turn inward and upward. Left untreated, clubfoot makes walking difficult and painful and carries severe social consequences such as increased rates of discrimination, neglect, and poverty. In partnership with local organizations and healthcare providers, MiracleFeet is building sustainable access to high-quality clubfoot care in 37 (and counting) low- and middle-income countries.

What We Do

miraclefeet works with in-country orthopedic surgeon leaders, Ministries of Health and other healthcare organizations to help establish national clubfoot programs. The goal is to develop a geographic network of local treatment clinics making clubfoot treatment accessible to all families. miraclefeet works to try to ensure that treatment is provided at participating clinics at no charge to patients and each participating clinic receives all supplies necessary to provide free care, including braces. Since bracing is a critical component of the cost and success of treatment, miraclefeet has partnered with the Stanford University Design School and Clarks Shoes to develop a low-cost brace that it hopes to introduce in 2013.
