Mission
Our mission is to create and strengthen healthy communities by providing quality, affordable housing with supportive services for low-income individuals, families and older adults. What We Do
Merced meets its mission through its programs:Through the Multi-Family Program, 1,715 families have quality, affordable homes in multi-family communities owned or developed by Merced in San Antonio, Corpus Christi, Conroe, Somerset, Karnes City, Goliad and Fort Worth.
Through the Resident Services Program (RSP), 2,670 apartment resident families build on the foundation of affordable housing and thrive because of no-cost supportive services offered by Merced. This program focuses on six areas: Housing Stability, Financial Growth, Health & Wellness for Families, Health & Wellness for Older Adults, Out of School Enrichment, and Community Engagement. The program helps residents achieve their own outcomes of good health, education, and financial stability.
Through the Owner-Occupied Repair Program (OORP), 665 extremely low-income senior or disabled homeowners live in greater safety and comfort and stay in the homes they own and love because of health- and safety-related repairs. The program helps homeowners who can no longer afford to keep their homes safe, sanitary or structurally sound.
Through the Supportive Services Program (SSP), apartment residents in crisis and all participants in the OORP receive one-on-one wraparound support from Merced staff. SSP staff extensively interview residents and homeowners to determine what they need beside affordable homes in order to have housing stability. Staff then connect clients to needed resources in the community and follow up to make sure that needs have been met. Staff collect data before and after services are provided to improve program delivery.
