Mission

LSA Family Health Service (LSA), Inc. works with the people of East Harlem to address the physical, emotional, educational, and spiritual dimensions of family health.

Our home-based and center-based programs are designed to empower those who are most vulnerable and who have least access to the basic necessities of life, in the conviction that the entire community grows when individuals and families are affirmed in their own dignity.

Founded in 1958.

What We Do

LSA services meet the most fundamental needs of families: food, clothing, healthcare, and a safe home.

Our services include: a food pantry and advocacy for families needing assistance with housing, immigration, legal aid, etc.; parenting and early childhood development programs to keep young children developmentally on track; home nursing with a focus on new mothers and their infants; asthma prevention through an environmental health program that reduces asthma triggers in the home; tutoring and mentoring for school-aged children; and social services to keep at-risk children from being placed in foster care.
