Mission
The Iredell County Partnership for Young Children is a local non-profit agency that believes every child, age birth to five years old, is important and can succeed in school and in life. We are committed to working with community partners to have systems and programs that support families and the child care workforce. What We Do
The Iredell County Partnership for Young Children is the hub for early childhood initiatives in Iredell County. Our mission is that all children enter kindergarten healthy and ready to succeed. Research clearly shows that what we do – and don’t do – for young children directly impacts the child’s ability to learn and have healthy, productive lifestyle habits. The Partnership is a local non-profit agency incorporated in 1996 that receives Smart Start, NC Pre-Kindergarten and Child Care Resource & Referral funding through appropriations made by the NC General Assembly. We also have local grants and fundraising initiatives.
Although the Partnership’s activities are for all young children, we intentionally target at-risk children with the majority of our initiatives. We offer services throughout Iredell County, however funding cuts forced us to close our Mooresville satellite office, move out of our prominent East Broad Street site and regroup in a much smaller building with seven fewer employees. To maintain our presence and impact, our Board and staff have realigned our work and increased our outreach efforts.
