Mission

The Immigrant Legal Advocacy Project (ILAP) advances justice and equity for immigrants in Maine through direct legal services, community education, and systemic advocacy.

What We Do

ILAP provides a continuum of direct legal services to low-income immigrants living in Maine to help them find safety from violence and persecution, keep their families together, and advance towards economic security.

We also offer accurate, accessible, and timely community education on immigration law issues to bolster the power within Maine's immigrant communities and prevent future legal complications.

And we collaborate with partner organizations and immigrant-led groups on systemic advocacy at the local, state, and federal levels to safeguard and promote legal protections for immigrant communities.
