Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights
Chicago, Illinois, USA
MissionICIRR is a 26-year-old coalition composed of 130 dues-paying organizations. ICIRR's mission is to promote full and equal participation of immigrants and refugees in the political, civic and economic life of our diverse society. Through legal status and opportunity for eventual citizenship, ICIRR's vision is life that includes the essential elements all residents strive for: a decent livelihood, economic opportunity, high quality education for their children, and basic human rights.
What We DoICIRR is a justice organization serving vulnerable immigrant communities -- the 1.76 million Illinois residents who are immigrants -- and builds unity within our 12.9 million population statewide.
In partnership with our member organizations, the Coalition educates and organizes immigrant and refugee communities to assert their rights; promotes citizenship and civic participation; monitors, analyzes, and advocates on immigrant-related issues; and, informs the general public about the contributions of immigrants and refugees.
