Mission

Through the benefits of psychiatric service dogs, Healing Companions, Inc. is dedicated to assisting individuals severely limited in their ability to function due to mental illness so that they can lead lives with dignity, productivity, freedom and self-reliance.
Goals

We are working very hard to reach our goal of providing a Psychiatric Service Dog to anyone who needs one within our region. We need your help and support to accomplish this! We want to raise awareness by educating both the public and mental health community in the need for our program and others like it. The benefits are immense and we are working to prove them as we collaborate with the mental health community and other similar organizations.

What We Do

Healing Companions' benefit to our community is three-fold: a shelter dog's life is saved; the trained psychiatric service dog provides a friend, family member, or neighbor who has mental illness with assistance that promotes a higher level of functioning and participation in society; and the inmate who has trained the dog gains both job skills and "soft skills" that help them obtain jobs and contribute to their communities upon release. A dollar a day can change so many lives.
