Mission

HANAC, Inc. – originally founded as the Hellenic American Neighborhood Action Committee – is a New York City based multi-faceted social services organization with administrative offices at 49 West 45th Street in New York City. The organization was founded in 1972 to serve the needs of vulnerable populations throughout New York City.

What We Do

Founded as a nonprofit in 1972 in Astoria, New York, HANAC – the Hellenic American Neighborhood Action Committee – was initially concerned with addressing the needs of new Greek immigrants living in the community.

Today, HANAC has become one of New York City’s largest and most successful social service organizations, touching the lives of over 30,000 individuals with a wide range of programs and services for diverse and multi-ethnic communities in four boroughs. We are dedicated to providing the education, vocational training and support services to enable everyone to reach their full potential.
