Mission

The GreenLight Fund identifies innovative, results oriented nonprofit programs around the country that can meet critical local needs and helps them expand to Boston. Our goal is to bring proven, high-impact nonprofits to the Boston area and help build them into successful, sustainable efforts that dramatically improve the lives of low-income children and families.

What We Do

The GreenLight Fund provides a vehicle to catalyze and support successful, sustainable replication that allows nonprofit solutions to be adapted, owned and sustained locally in Boston.

The GreenLight Fund provides significant resources during the first four years of a program’s life in Boston and serves as an on-the-ground partner invested in the early and long-term success of the organization. We do the following:
• Identify critical needs in the Boston area

• Conduct rigorous due diligence on nonprofit models that could address needs with high impact

• Analyze the local landscape to determine candidate organizations’ potential for innovation, impact and sustainability here in Boston

• When GreenLight selects an organization, it
supports it by contributing startup and early stage financial resources, taking a seat on the local Board of Directors, helping build a strong staff and Board, recruiting a core of champions to support the nonprofit in Boston, and helping the organization navigate the local community.
