Funding For Social Change
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
MissionFounded in 2021, Funding For Social Change is a collective of grant writers, creatives, and consultants increasing the flow of capital to equity and justice projects that are by and for people of color, LGBTQ2+ people, disabled people, women, and low-income people, with the aim of lowering the barriers within the Nonprofit Industrial Complex through direct support, skill-share, and dismantling the white supremacy culture pervading these spaces.
What We DoTo date, FFSC has raised over $16M in grants, with pro bono and low bono efforts focused on on grassroots, fiscally sponsored, and "hard-to-fund" projects, such as work for mutual aid, reparations, and fighting the harms of incarceration from inside prisons.
Our sliding scale resources and services are designed for nonprofits and social enterprises seeking to create social impact through community development, and social, racial, and economic justice.
Free and low cost services include grant writing, budgeting, strategic planning, organizational development, nonprofit coaching, and creative design, through a process that goes deep into skilling up and building community with values-aligned organizations.
Free resources include funding databases, templates, guides, and workshops.
All of these efforts have been out of necessity, as these resources are often inaccessible in philanthropy due to finances, capacity, and/or gatekeeping inherent to the industry.
