Mission

Finland Center Foundation (FCF) is the meeting point of Finnish and American culture, commerce and community. FCF supports the activities of Finnish-American organizations in the greater New York area, and Finnish values globally. The Kota Project is an important endeavor aiming to create a World Center for Women in New York City, an incubator to support organizations working globally for women's empowerment.

What We Do

Finland Center Foundation's Kota Project aims to establish a World Center for Women in New York City. An incubator for small and medium sized organizations, the physical space would include subsidized conference, office, and event space for small and medium sized organizations working globally for women's empowerment, as well as lodging for their visitors. In order to accomplish this, it needs to be structured as a social enterprise, and FCF will continue its cultural and educational programming in the service of this cause. We are in the process of evaluating a potential building and planning the financing of it. A crowdfunding campaign is being planned for the fall for the startup phase.
