Mission

EMIY Inc. (Encourage Me I'm Young) is non-profit 501c3 organization dedicated to seeding the lives of boys in servant leadership. We know by facilitating our "EMIY WAY" to Engage * Empower * Encourage. Our mission is to uplift and encourage youth of all ages to become compassionate, intelligent, and logical decision makers while embracing their abilities to become the future leaders of encouragement and empowerment. Our approach to our work is both prevention and intervention through clear action and advocacy.

What We Do

Since, 2007, we have successfully impacted more than 16,000 boys with our first mentees reaching and exceeding the age of 28 years old. They are now productive citizens, husbands and fathers. Our anchor program, EMIY Future Leaders (EFL) engage in 5 cornerstone activities during their 14-week sessions that include 1) Health & Wellness, 2) Sportsmanship & Teamwork, 3) Leadership & Character, 4) Experiential Learning, 5) Literacy & Academic Performance. In addition to our Fall and Spring EFL programs we also work year-around beyond our programs in prevention and intervention strategies that impact boys primarily in southeastern Michigan to engage, empower and encourage resiliency skills, mindfulness, identified group values, service and servant leadership, and value respect and as ad important foundation built upon our EFL 11 pillars of character. Our current movement provides awareness to suicide prevention strategies for boys as early as 5 years old. We know that through early intervention we equip families and communities to "Smash Suicide" before it takes root.
