Mission

Connecting Henry, Inc. is a department of the Henry County Government as well as a non-profit organization serving as the local branch of the Georgia Family Connection. The board of directors meets monthly, provides overview and guidance, and advocates on our behalf within the community. Since 1998, we have served Henry County residents. Our mission is to identify and connect existing resources in the community by facilitating collaboration amongst local organizations in Henry County while simultaneously providing our own direct assistance to families and at-risk youth through specialized education and professional development programs.

What We Do

Our role is to identify existing resources to aid families and children in Henry County.
We bring community partners together to achieve this aim. Our partners may include: public agencies, non-profits, faith-based organizations, businesses, civic organizations, and citizens. Together we share resources to advocate, educate, and assist those in need.

We envision a community where collaborative partners work together to provide critical resources that ultimately empowers families to become stable and self-sufficient. Connecting Henry, in short, is a beacon to innumerable families in Henry County and, in many cases, a highly structured support and accountability system without which many citizens capable of becoming contributing members of our area would likely to end up perpetuating cycles of abject poverty.

The Students Working to Achieve Greatness (SWAG) Program, which is a critical component in our direct assistance services, is designed to assist at-risk, out-of-school, Henry County youth, ages 16 - 24 with the skills, resources, and academics necessary to be successful in the workforce.
