What We Do

Chippewa Nature Center (CNC) is inspiring people to be stewards of the natural world. Enjoy free admission to the Visitor Center, located at 400 S. Badour Rd. in Midland, MI, 8 am-5 pm Monday-Saturday and 12-5 pm Sunday and most holidays. CNC offers 19 miles of trails, including 7+ miles of groomed cross-country ski trails, and 1,500 acres to explore dawn-to-dark 365 days a year. In the Visitor Center, guests will enjoy the Bur Oak Theatre, Nature Discovery Area, Ecosystem Gallery, River Overlook, Wildlife Viewing Area, Nature Center Store and more. Annual events include Maple Syrup Day, Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour, Native Plant Sale, Fall Harvest Festival and Nature Art Show & Sale. Nature Day Camp is offered each summer for kids ages 3-16. Nature Preschool meets the developmental needs of 3- and 4-year olds while initiating them into a life-long, meaningful relationship with the natural world.
