Mission

The mission of Chautauqua Blind Association is to enable people with visual impairments to be active members of their community, to provide education regarding vision loss and to raise awareness of the importance of early vision screening for healthy vision, school success and lifetime achievement.

What We Do

We work with residents of all ages who live in either Chautauqua or Cattaraugus Counties and are experiencing profound vision loss. Our services include vision rehabilitation teaching to help individuals remain independent, active and safe in their environment including home, work or school settings; orientation and mobility to assure individuals are moving within their environment using GPS equipment, white canes and service dogs ; and social casework to assist in all other areas of adjustment and accessing other needed services.
