Mission

The Center for Asian American Media (CAAM) is a non-profit organization dedicated to presenting stories that convey the richness and diversity of Asian American experiences to the broadest audience possible.

What We Do

CAAM is the leading Asian American media arts organization in the nation and a leading San Francisco arts and culture organization. We fund, produce, distribute and exhibit works in film, television and digital media. Annually, CAAMFest attracts 26,000 audience members and our national public television broadcasts reach over 6 million viewers. Our educational distribution program is the largest in the U.S. and serves over 2,000 universities, K–12 schools and libraries throughout the country. Through a longstanding relationship with the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, our Media Fund has awarded over $5 million towards independent film and video productions by and about Asian Americans for theatrical release and public television broadcast. In addition, CAAM develops innovative digital media projects to broaden and diversify our audience base and is an emerging leader and trendsetter in digital and interactive media.
