Mission

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Los Angeles mobilizes community volunteers to advocate for children who have experienced abuse and neglect.

What We Do

CASA/LA recruits, trains and supports community volunteers who are paired one-on-one with a child who is in foster care because they have experienced abuse or neglect. These volunteers are appointed by a judge in dependency court to advocate for the child in court and in their daily lives. The CASA volunteer helps the child navigate the foster care system and works toward improved outcomes in permanency (finding a permanent home), safety, education, physical health and mental health.
