Mission
Our mission is to work with justice-impacted individuals to eliminate recidivism and rebuild communities through empowerment, healing and personal transformation.
What We Do
California Reentry Institute's (CRI) Empowered Reentry Program is a trauma-informed program based in cognitive-behavioral therapy and restorative justice principles that facilitates transformative change in participants through classroom work, small group processing, homework and individual case management. As participants recognize that they are not defined by the crime they committed, they begin to understand the causative factors of their crimes and to develop empathy and care for all who were impacted; they can begin the process of healing. Through CRI's Pre-Release curriculum, participants are empowered to find hope that they can live meaningful lives as productive, contributing members of society and the faith that they can depend on the support of CRI's Post-Release services to succeed in doing so.
