Mission

We promote healing for child abuse victims of abuse by supporting access, quality, sustainability, and equity at children's advocacy centers (CACs). Our vision is that every child in the state has access to exactly the response they need from a CAC following an allegation or disclosure of abuse.

What We Do

Our organization is a 501c3 membership organization that supports child advocacy centers (CACs) in Michigan with public policy leadership, program consultation, and training. CACs partner with prosecutors, law enforcement, and child protective services to coordinate the investigation of child abuse, most frequently, child sexual abuse.

CACs employ forensic interviewing specialists who take the child's statement in a developmentally appropriate and legally sound way. Last year CACs served more than 11,000 children and youth. Beyond the investigation, CACs provide advocacy and evidence-based trauma therapy to the children it serves--work that is critical to reducing trauma and promoting healing. Our goal is to help kids get back to being kids.
