Mission

To create a world where women and girls lead dignified lives in secure communities, where they are valued as equal members and have control over their bodies.

What We Do

Boxgirls Organization works in the vulnerable populations of Kenya mainly in the urban slums of Mathare, Kariobangi, Korogocho, Kibera, Kayole, Huruma and the rural area of Kakamega and Kisii. Boxgirls target young girls and women age 8-23yrs old and involve them in various activities/ programs where they are holistically empowered and are equipped to be agent of positive social change within their communities. Boys age 6-17yrs are also involved in the organization activities occasionally in the gender - education program. The engagement of the boys in the activities is crucial in addressing the issue of gender based violence.

Boxgirls Kenya priority is to see that girls and young women from the marginalized communities of Kenya are reached and informed on their rights hence increasing their opportunities of being great leaders who influence positive social change within their communities and also being women with strong personalities and able to achieve their aspiration.
