Mission

Big Big Table Community Cafe (BBT) is a pay-as-you-can lunchtime restaurant, focused on addressing hunger, reducing food waste, and building community.
Our mission is to provide a dignified response to hunger in our community, providing Buffalo with accessible and affordable nutritious meals, regardless of how the diner chooses to contribute.

What We Do

Our bright corner at Hudson and West in 14201 has been open since October of 2021 and we've served over 10,000 meals since that time.

BBT has a number of pillars to our service. One, we strive for healthy, seasonal, locally sourced meals to the best of our ability. Second, we are active members in the food rescue community in Buffalo, accepting donations of, usually, cosmetically unappealing produce and connecting with Waste Not Want Not/Food Not Bombs. Finally, we aim to do all of this without upsetting or taxing established local food systems, such as FeedMore. We fit into the Social Determinants of Health by promoting access to nutritious foods and safe, connected communities. Big Big Table exists as part of Buffalo's dignified response to hunger and acknowledging that restorative justice includes a movement toward free choice of meals, kindness and respect in service, and the promotion of a culture of contribution. We help individuals and families stretch SSD/SSI money, EBT, and WIC, and for many seniors in our community we've become 'the' Lunch Spot where they know they can go to relax with a great meal and good company.
