Mission

Badilika Foundation is a non profit organization which was established in 2006 in Blantyre, Malawi with the aim to improve the livelihoods of communities especially of underprivileged girls and women from rural and urban slum areas. We envision a society where girls and women are free take part in the development processes of their communities and able to lead. Our core focus areas are: improving access to education for girls and young women; linking girls and women to access quality health services including HIV services, providing opportunities for economic development, promoting human rights of girls and women, and addressing effects of climate change.

What We Do

Our core activities are:
1. Ensuring that marginalized girls and young women have access to secondary school education through provision of scholarships and mentorship.
2. Facilitating linkages for girls and women to access quality health services such as HIV prevention & treatment, and sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services.
3. Providing opportunities for economic empowerment through vocational skills training, cash transfer and small loans schemes.
4. Advocating for human rights of women and girls who face stigma and discrimination such as female sex workers, AGYW and people living with HIV.
