Our mission is to equip individuals with financial education, life skills and assets that enable one to live free from oppression and poverty.

What We Do

Able Works fulfills its mission through two core programs FutureProfits and LiveAble.

FutureProfits teaches under-resourced high school students about fundamental financial paradigms, life and job skills, and helps combat myths about money that can be detrimental to their futures. FutureProfits partners with local high schools and organizations to teach over 700 students weekly. FutureProfits also takes students out of the classrooms to experience careers at companies like Facebook, Google and Genomic Health in the Silicon Valley.

LiveAble seeks to bring economic self-sufficiency to female heads of household ages 18 through 30 through financial education, group learning environments called cohorts, mental health counseling, credit counseling and access to stable housing. Our cohort model takes a group of young moms in similar circumstances, and allows for them to move forward together in a healthy environment while having group accountability and mentorship. LiveAble graduates have opened savings accounts for the first time, acquired their GEDs, received legal help and mental health counseling, and many have found stable employment.
