What did Joyce have to offer?

I am interested in the Board Strategy project to move FSO forward in achieving its goals. If FSO’s short term goal is advocacy for conservation and recovery of the Southern Sea Otter, then, I would begin by speaking with people who have professional expertise in the following areas: • New media and/or marketing/public relations – To reach a broad audience, to build “brand” awareness, to exploit the “adorableness” of the otter to help save the species and improve their habitat, • involved in environmental conservation - water quality or waste treatment Also FSO should have Board members with • financial expertise to develop budgets and manage operations • Chairman of the Board who directs and advances FSO’s operations with input from Board members - scientific, environmental, financial and marketing professionals I expect after speaking with people in some of these areas, I will have additional ideas and more specific targets. My experience in asset management required assessing the influence of Board members and the composition of the Board. In business school one of the required courses was Corporate Governance which also required us to analyze case studies though in a for profit setting.
